The research centers CERN and GSI, the Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation (School of Medicine, AUTH), the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Society of Biomedical Technology (ELEVIT), and Papageorgiou General Hospital of Thessaloniki, with the support of the Region of Central Macedonia, cordially invite you to participate in the Particle Therapy Masterclass. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the KEDEA Building in Thessaloniki, 09:00 – 14:00.

About the Masterclass
This Masterclass is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Its primary goal is to highlight the vital role of Physics in modern medical treatment, focusing on innovative methods for treating severe forms of cancer, as implemented at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Particle therapy techniques utilize photons, protons, or carbon ions in combination with specialized software.

Program Overview
The workshop covers a wide range of activities, spanning from fundamental research to its applications in society and clinical practice. Specifically, the program includes:

• Presentations (in Greek)
• Video screenings and virtual visits
• Hands-on practical sessions supported by students from AUTH and CERN
